wavy cardigan

Updated on Wed Nov 06 2024

heya pals :-) i'm back with another new FO! this was a pattern test done for @silly.hands, featuring a cardigan made with garter stitch and ribbing. i added i-cord bows instead of buttons as i realised i've never done i-cords before lmao and was really curious to try it out. this was also my first project on needles that were < 8mm... lol... and honestly it actually felt so nice to not fumble with chunky yarn and needles - definitely a fan of the 5-6mm needles. this project was really easy to work on, and pretty mindless which i absolutely LOVED. i'm really bad at purling fast, so doing only knit stitches was definitely the dream. i was also really keen on buying and using noro yarn on this project and after looking at different options, i eventually settled on the shibuya colourway from the ito line. i liked that it had bright and dark components, which gave a nice contrast. i think i used 1.5 skeins, but definitely skimped on the sleeves.... should've done a better swatch for them. also because i didn't have needles for sleeves, i ended up knitting a panel for one of the sleeves in garter stitch and seamed it up together. it was a lot faster that way, and saved me the hassle of doing the magic circle thingy which i don't have the patience for too... whoops. anyway i really liked how this cardigan turned out, and it was so warm when i wore it in japan! yarns: https://noroyarns.com/yarn/K-ITO yardage: 1.5 skeins
